T-Ball further introduces boys and girls to the game of baseball. The focus at this level remains to promote fun and enjoyment in an entirely non-competitive environment. Great steps are taken to ensure that the child achieves success on a small scale, whereby skills can gradually be introduced and mastered in future years.
We offer two divisions of T-Ball:
Baseball age: 5 years old.
Starting with introduction to a baseball tee, they will gradually work towards hitting a pitch from their coach. In TBall 1, like in Blastball, although players are encouraged to get outs defensively, all players still bat through the lineup each inning and base runners continue to stay on base and learn to navigate the basepaths.
Baseball age: 6 years old.
Will become comfortable using a baseball tee, as well as hitting off a coaches pitch. The position of Catcher is introduced at this age. In TBall 2, to further the development of base running and defensive IQ, outs are recorded and innings end on 3 outs or at the run limit established in the rules.
Boys and girls “league age” 5 - 6 years old.
The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child as of August 31 of the current year. Use this Age Calculator to determine your child’s league age.
Parents are often expected to help during warmup as players learn to catch and throw. Parents are expected to meet their league volunteer requirements throughout the year and help at the year-end Jamboree in June.
